How does your integrator implement a Safety System into your Robot Cell?

With very strict ANSI/RIA and OSHA safety standards, robot systems integrated in facilities today must have very careful consideration in system design, hardware selection, and integration.  Robot systems with improper safety equipment implementation can result in severe injury or even death.

As a Machine Builder Partner for Rockwell Automation, we integrate the latest in safety technology into our robot systems.  Typically using a Safety PLC from Allen Bradley, we're able to interface safety signals through bus connections such as Ethernet I/P and Safety over Ethernet with modern robot control functions (Fanuc Robotics Advanced DCS and Motoman FSU).  The use of the Allen Bradley CompactGuardlogic PLC system interfaced with technology such as DCS or FSU allows us to safely monitor a robots position within the cell using reference positions that activate dual channel safety outputs.  Used in conjunction with safety light curtains and / or laser scanners, we are able to provide state-of-the-art modern and widely accepted controls systems that meet and exceed the latest ANSI/RIA standards.

Whether you're integrating smaller Fanuc Robotics Arcmate or Motoman MA1400 robots, or Fanuc Robotics M900iA or Motoman MH185 robots - your safety system is a very critical part of your overall system!
